Hand-Tied Dried Flower Bouquet Making Workshop

Venue: Home Farm Flowers & Crafts, Helensburgh
Date: TBC
Time: TBC (approx. 2–3 hours)
Group size: Maximum 6
Level: Beginners welcome

Join us at Home Farm for a cosy, hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own hand-tied dried flower bouquet using an abundant variety of flowers and foliage grown and dried by us from our 2025 season.

This is a small-group session so you’ll get plenty of guidance as you choose your colour palette and build a bouquet that feels like you — wild & airy, soft & romantic, or bold & bright. We’ll show you how to shape, balance and bind your stems, then finish your bouquet with ribbon (optional) and wrap it ready to take home.

With the right care, dried flowers last beautifully — making your bouquet perfect for a vase at home, a thoughtful gift, or even a bridal-style bouquet if you’d like to create something wedding-inspired.

What you’ll make

1 hand-tied dried flower bouquet (approx. 40cm x 40cm — or bigger/smaller depending on your style)
Finished with ribbon (optional) and wrapped ready to take home

What you’ll learn

How to build a hand-tied bouquet (spiral technique, balance, shape, movement)
How to choose and place stems for a bouquet that looks natural but composed
How dried flowers behave differently from fresh (and how to design for that)
How we dry flowers at Home Farm — what dries well, what doesn’t, and why
Care tips to keep your bouquet looking beautiful for as long as possible
Inspiration to help you start drying your own flowers at home

Hosted by Jeanette & Paula – Home Farm Flowers & Crafts

We’re neighbours, friends, creative artists, and seasonal & sustainable flower growers based in Helensburgh, Scotland, heading into our 4th year. We grow all our flowers from seeds, corms, bulbs and tubers, making the most of Scotland’s short growing season and applying organic principles to work with the environment and wildlife.

Our “seed to art” approach influences everything we create — from weddings and bouquets to dried arrangements, pressed flower art and workshops that help others discover the joy of working with seasonal, locally-grown botanicals.
