Seasonal Scottish Funeral & Farewell Flowers

Seasonal Scottish Funeral & Farewell Flowers

At Home Farm Flowers & Crafts, we are an alternative florist and established seasonal flower growers and floral designers, now in our fourth year of growing in Scotland.

We create natural, sustainable funeral flowers using seasonal blooms grown here on our farm wherever possible. From this year, we are honoured to offer funeral and farewell flowers in Scotland, designed in a gentle, non-traditional style that reflects the seasons, the landscape and the life being remembered.

Our arrangements are created without floral foam, and we avoid single-use plastics and wire wherever possible. All designs are made to be fully compostable and suitable for natural burial settings.

What We Create & Offer

All of our funeral flowers are bespoke and seasonal, shaped by what is growing and what feels most meaningful. As a growing-led alternative florist, we don’t replicate set designs — instead, we work naturally and thoughtfully to create floral tributes that feel personal, respectful and appropriate.

We will pick your flowers the day before the funeral so they are at their freshest, and arrange them using compostable materials such as moss, twine and bamboo, without the use of plastic or floral foam.

Posy Jars & Flowers to Take Home

We offer seasonal posy jars and hand-tied posies that can be used during the service and then taken home by family and friends. These are a gentle way to share flowers after the farewell, allowing each person to leave with something meaningful.

Posies can also be created as two or more smaller arrangements, making them easy to share between loved ones.

Seasonal Wreaths, Sprays & Sheaves

Our wreaths, sprays and sheaves are created using British, seasonal flowers and foliage, designed to feel soft, garden-inspired and natural.

Funeral wreaths
Designed to be placed on top of the coffin, these can range from simple foliage wreaths to flower-filled wreaths. If you’d like, we can incorporate bulbs or small plants that can be taken home afterwards and planted in your garden as a living remembrance.

Casket sprays
Designed to sit on top of the coffin, these beautiful tributes can be created as:

Smaller, single-ended teardrop-shaped sprays, or larger, double-ended sprays
All are created using seasonal flowers and fully compostable mechanics.

Sheaves & hand-tied bouquets
Sheaves and hand-tied bouquets can be placed on top of the coffin and can also be created as two or more smaller posies, allowing flowers to be shared with family and friends after the service.

Meadow Flower Arrangements

A natural, garden-inspired arrangement using seasonal flowers and foliage, created with fully compostable materials. These can work beautifully for remembrance tables, alongside the coffin, or as a softer alternative to more formal shapes.

Personal & Thoughtful Designs

For those seeking something less traditional, we can explore deeply personal floral tributes that reflect a loved one’s character, interests or connection to nature. This may include garden-inspired arrangements or natural forms that feel gathered rather than formal.

All ideas are approached with care and sensitivity to ensure they feel right for the occasion.

Flowers from a Loved One’s Garden

Where appropriate, we offer a garden-gathering service, using flowers or foliage from the deceased’s own garden. This can be a meaningful way to honour a life shaped by gardening, nature or home, and to include familiar plants with personal significance.

Dried & Everlasting Funeral Flowers

In addition to fresh, seasonal flowers, we also offer dried and everlasting funeral flower arrangements.

These can be a thoughtful option for those who would like:

A tribute that lasts beyond the service;

Flowers to keep at home as a quiet memorial;

A non-traditional or informal farewell;

A sustainable option using flowers grown and dried on our farm.

Dried arrangements are created in the same natural, considered style as our fresh work.

Church, Venue & DIY Options

We can also create floral arrangements for the church or venue, including simple flowers for altars, entrances or remembrance tables.

If you’d prefer to make arrangements yourselves, we also offer DIY buckets of seasonal flowers and foliage. This can be a lovely option for family members and friends who want a hands-on tribute. We’re happy to advise on quantities, colours and what will work well together.

We offer local delivery to Helensburgh, Rhu, Cardross, Dumbarton, Alexandria, Balloch and Garelochhead (and nearby areas by arrangement). Delivery details and costs can be discussed when you get in touch.

Although this is our first year offering funeral flowers, we bring years of growing and design experience and a calm, considered approach to every farewell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your funeral flowers seasonal?

Yes. Our funeral flowers are led by the seasons.

From March to October, we work primarily with fresh, seasonal flowers grown here on our farm or sourced from other British growers.

From November to February, when fresh flowers are more limited, we focus on foliage-led designs, alongside British-sourced seasonal stems or dried and everlasting flowers.

How much notice do you need for funeral flowers?

We recommend getting in touch as soon as you’re able. That said, we understand timings can be short and will always do our best to accommodate last-minute funeral flower requests, subject to availability.

Do you offer non-traditional or alternative funeral flowers?

Yes. We are an alternative, growing-led florist and specialise in natural, garden-inspired designs. We’re happy to discuss informal or non-traditional tributes.

Can you work with specific colours or flowers?

We’re happy to take colour preferences or meaningful flower requests into account. As we work seasonally, exact varieties may vary, but we’ll suggest suitable alternatives that reflect your wishes.

Do you offer dried or everlasting funeral flowers?

Yes. We offer dried and everlasting funeral flower arrangements for those who would like a lasting tribute or something to keep after the service.

Are your funeral flowers suitable for natural or woodland burials?

Yes. Our arrangements are designed to be foam-free and fully compostable, making them suitable for natural burial grounds and woodland settings.

Do you deliver funeral flowers?

Yes. We offer local delivery to Helensburgh, Rhu, Cardross, Dumbarton, Alexandria, Balloch and Garelochhead. Delivery details and costs can be discussed when you get in touch.
