At Home Farm Flowers & Crafts, our botanical artwork begins long before a design is created. Seed-to-Art is the name we give to our full process: from sowing seed, to growing and harvesting seasonal Scottish flowers, to carefully preserving them, and finally arranging them into one-of-a-kind artworks made to last.
We grow our flowers using organic principles on our flower field near Helensburgh, by Loch Lomond. Each season is different, and that’s part of the beauty. Our palettes are guided by what is naturally flourishing at that moment in the field, which means every piece is a true reflection of the season it came from.
Once flowers are cut at their peak, we preserve them using traditional methods. Some are carefully pressed to capture fine detail, soft colour, and delicate structure. Others are dried to hold their shape and texture, perfect for more sculptural or three-dimensional designs. Many of our pieces combine pressed and dried flowers together, creating depth and movement while still keeping the natural character of each bloom.
Because everything is made from real seasonal flowers grown here and arranged by hand, no two artworks can ever be identical. Each piece is unique, with small variations that make it genuinely one of a kind.
You’ll see Seed-to-Art across our Scottish Botanical Art Collection, from small botanical studies to larger statement pieces, including contemporary black-background designs and mixed-media artworks. Whether you’re choosing a gift or a lasting piece for your home, Seed-to-Art is our promise that every artwork carries a traceable story, from seed to finished frame.
If you’d like help choosing a piece, or you’re looking for a particular colour mood for your space, feel free to get in touch. We can recommend available artworks that match your style, and we’re always happy to share what’s currently growing and being preserved in the studio.
