DIY Wedding Flower Buckets Scotland: How Many Do You Need?

Planning a DIY wedding with fresh Scottish flowers? Our seasonal flower buckets give you farm-fresh blooms to create your own bouquets, table arrangements, and bud vases. But how many buckets do you actually need? Let's break it down.

Why Choose DIY Wedding Flower Buckets

DIY flower buckets offer you the freedom to create your own wedding florals while enjoying the beauty of seasonal Scottish blooms. You'll get pesticide-free stems grown right here on our Helensburgh farm, picked at their peak and delivered fresh. It's a sustainable, budget-friendly way to bring your floral vision to life while supporting local Scottish growers.

What's Included in Each Bucket

Each bucket is filled with a generous selection of seasonal Scottish stems – think sweet peas, dahlias, cornflowers, cosmos, larkspur, ranunculus, orlaya, snapdragons - and so much more!  Essentially, whatever's blooming beautifully at the time of your wedding. You'll receive a mix of focal flowers, supporting blooms, and foliage to create balanced, textural arrangements. Every bucket is different because we work with what the seasons give us.

How Many Buckets for Bridal Bouquets

For a full, hand-tied bridal bouquet, we recommend one large bucket. This gives you plenty of stems to create a lush, statement bouquet with enough variety for depth and texture or one large and one medium for extra lush. If you're going for a smaller, more delicate style, one medium bucket should be sufficient.

How Many Buckets for Bridesmaid Bouquets

Each bridesmaid bouquet typically needs a medium bucket, depending on the size you're after. For a bridal party of four, four medium buckets should cover all your bridesmaid bouquets with a little extra for backup stems.

How Many Buckets for Table Arrangements

Low vase arrangements for guest tables need about half a medium bucket per table. So if you're decorating 10 tables, plan for 5 medium buckets. This gives you enough stems to create full, generous centerpieces that make an impact without towering over your guests.

How Many Buckets for Bud Vases

Bud vases are a beautiful, budget-friendly way to dress your tables. One large bucket can fill 10 - 14 small bud vases, depending on how many stems you use per vase. Mix and match single stems or small clusters for an organic, meadow-style look.

Seasonal Scottish Blooms: What to Expect

Our buckets change with the seasons because we grow what thrives naturally in Scotland. Spring brings tulips, ranunculus, and sweet peas. Summer offers dahlias, cosmos, cornflowers, orlaya, snapdragons, daisy's, astrantia and so much more. Autumn gives us rich dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, daisy's, seed heads and more.

When to Order Your Buckets

Book your DIY buckets at least 4-6 weeks before your wedding date to secure your preferred delivery or collection date. During peak season our DIY buckets sell out, so early booking ensures we can schedule you in our diary and confirm your buckets. Collection is available from our Helensburgh farm and we offer delivery.
